Trip description
Alp Lager means Mountaineering Camp, this is one several camps of Soviets in Varzob gorge. Once upon a time this place was over crowded all year round, people from all corners of ex-USSR come here to climb, to go for expeditions and to bring the beginners for training. The camp is equipped with flats, storage, sauna and swimming pool. Unfortunately, now none of these working and to enter the campsite, you have to get permission. If you go with our guides, there won’t be a problem we have agreement with camp owners. Alp Lager has several routes; we prepared three – most interesting of them. Also you can enjoy the beautiful nature and do some hiking to nearby gorges if you want. The routes prepared by Yvo Wiedmann and members of “Ahba Club”.
Location
53.3 km drive from Dushanbe to the north, following the Varzob river along the Dushanbe - Ayni highway. Possible only by taxi or the best way is to go with our guides car.
